Daily Sign-In

Daily Sign In binder for student practice with writing names in Kindergarten
Name writing. The levels of ability for this task are amazing to me! Some children were taught to print their names using all capital letters. Some children use a mix of both uppercase and lowercase letters throughout. And some just don't have a clue :)

This year I am introducing the Daily Sign-In.

This is a tip I learned while doing a student teaching placement, and for some reason had not put into practice until now.
When students enter the classroom they put their things away, hand in their Communication Bags and agendas, and sign in. The Daily Sign-In is just a part of the whole morning routine, and is a quick way to give students some extra reinforcement in printing their names properly.

For now, the names are made up of dashes for tracing.
Later, as they gain practice, they will be able to print their names on the lines without guides.
Something like this is easy to differentiate for students with various abilities {some keep on with tracing their names, while others won't need it}.

It's editable!

You can add your own name to the cover (there are 10 cover options!) and your students' names on the worksheets. You can print them, as I did, with a dashed font. You can make the spaces blank for students who can print their name already.
Speaking of names...you may have notice a change from this
to this
It's still me! I still teach Kindergarten! I just wanted to have my blog name be less specific about the level of content. Hope I haven't confused anyone!
